Premium Fiji
Live Rock
comes from the Island of Fiji in the South Pacific. Aquatic Connection
Live Handpicks all of our Fiji Premium Live Rock to assure it
is the highest grade of Fiji live rock possible. Once the rock
is in our facility, we sort Fiji Premium based on the overall
appearance and coralline algae coverage. It may have been flown
in as Fiji Premium, but there is always an amount we find that
does not meet our standard. It is discounted as foundation rock,
or broken into sump rock We do not pass it along to our customers
as Premium as our competitors do. Premium Fiji rock is then placed
in our vats of fresh synthetic seawater, re-hydrated, and when
the orders come in, we carefully package each piece, and place
them in an insulated cooler like container, and then that goes
in a final corugated shipping box. Fiji rock contains many interesting
shapes depending on where it is collected from on the reef. We
see both oblong and boulder like shapes, fused colonies that
are the result of ancient coral colonies along with ombination
of all the descriptions above. Every piece is unique and a celebration
of the oceans ability to create beauty from nature. Coralline
algae will be on the rock face of each piece. This coraline algae
will become part of the beauty of the aquarium, once introduced
into your tank.
Not all Premium Fiji is the same, no matter what they
call it! Aquatic Connection Live has chosen only one supplier
out of Fiji. We are able to provide the freshest and most colorful
Fiji live rock available, since it is weekly flown in directly
from Fiji. Of course, you will find cheaper sources for Fiji
Premium rock elsewhere, but the rock is what we call Fiji Boat
Rock because the rock is placed in cargo containers on ships
out of the port of Suva in Fiji and arrive in the United States
many weeks later. Not just boulders, Aquatic Connection Live
Premium Fiji has unique shapes and once established in your tank,
it has an incredible assortment of color. Like all quality live
rock, It will produce small sps corals after a few months in
an established tank.
When rocking
your reef tank, it is acceptable to combine a few different islands
rock. You
may also alter the sizes and shape of your live rock with a hammer
and chisel. This will not damage the integrity of the rock, nor
it's inhabitants. Please be careful to wear eye protection if
you are chiseling live rock.
You pay only
for the weight of the live rock, not the weight of the packaging.
Unlike
some other online dealers, Aquatic Connection Live does not count
the box and all packaging materials as part of the live rock
weight ordered. All orders are handpicked , then hand packaged,
first wrapped in plastic and paper for cushioning, then we pack
all orders in a styrofoam container and styro foamies for extra
cushioning.
Fiji Premium
