Lumatek 250W MH/HPS Electronic
Ballast 120V/240V Super Lumens
Available in 250 watt or 400 watt versions
|
The Lumatek Electronic Ballast produces more lumens generated per watt of electricity
consumed losing fewer watts from power supply to lamp - This
results in an amazing power factor of 99%+. Light meter readings
indicate that the Lumatek ballast is up to 30% brighter than
common core and coil magnetic ballasts. The Lumatek is 10-15%
brighter than other brands of digital ballast on the market.
Simply stated, the Lumatek Digital Ballast is the brightest ballast
in the industry, hands down. Another great feature of the Lumatek
Electronic Ballast is that the ballast powers different bulb
types. A Lumatek electronic ballast runs both Metal Halide or
HPS (HQI or mogul base) bulbs on the same ballast.
Electronic Ballast vs E-Ballast
The Lumatek ballast is an E-ballast, unlike other brands on the
market, which are actually electronic ballasts. E-ballasts use
a microprocessor similar to a component found in a personal computer.
This microprocessor allows the E-ballast to run either halide
or sodium lamps, to switch between 50 and 60 hertz, to make adjustments
for the type of bulb it is running, and even to compensate for
degraded lamps by increasing its output. Electronic ballasts
have a constant output and cannot make adjustments or changes.
They will light a MH lamp; but quickly cause it to degrade, thus
shortening the lamp`s lifespan.
Lumatek ballasts are programmed to allow
for a `soft start` and do not require
an initial power surge to start the ballast. This allows end
users to start multiple ballasts simultaneously without blowing
a breaker. The ballast will also detect a short in the wiring
or a defective lamp. It simply shuts itself off, letting the
user know that something is wrong. This should be kept in mind
if you have a customer whose ballast keeps shutting down. In
most cases, there is a problem with the output wiring.
One of the most unique features of all Lumatek Ballast's is
the Smart Volt feature, which means that it can run on 120V
or 240V by simply changing power cords. All Lumatek ballasts
come standard with a 6ft. 120V detachable power cords. Purchase
the 240V power cord separately to run on 240V. The lamp cord
to the reflector is sold seperately, however if you are purchasing
a Sun Supply Reflector that is pre-wired with a lamp cord and
socket this ballast will be compatible with the reflector and
a separate lamp cord and socket is not needed.
ALL Lumatek ballasts come wired with
Sunlight Supply's standard female lamp cord receptacle that accepts
their patented male lamp cord, making these units compatible
with all Sun System®, Reef Optix® & LumenMax®
reflectors. You can also separately purchase a lamp cord with
socket assembly.
Full 5 year warranty (3
years full and two years pro-rated).
