Aquatic Connection provides quality aquarium
corals. When shipments arrive, all live corals are inspected
, disinfected, and placed in a specialized coral holding tanks.
Our live coral aquarium pack's have been designed to provide
easier choices for the beginning aquarist at special discounted
prices. If you have any questions selecting your corals, don't

Nano
Coral Pack's

Nano Coral Pack's are a combination
of various corals that are well suited for the mini reef, Nano
Cube environment |
|
We have chosen select corals
for their hardiness, popularity, and suitability to flourish
in the nano reef environment. All of the
corals included do not require supplemental feedings. They pull
their nutrition from a process called photosynthasis. Although
not nescessary, you may find the corals thrive better in the
nano environment with very small feedings of phytoplankton and
brine shrimp. Be careful when suplemental feedings are provided,
as the water quality in the nano environment can deteriorate
very quickly. Recommended Nano aquarium components include both
live sand and live rock. These components give a large boost
to the biological system, needed to make the Nano system thrive.
For lighting, we recommend at least 2 watts per gallon either
by power compact or standard flourescent lighting. The addition
of an actinic bulb will greatly enhance the "look"
of your Nano Reef Tank. Low water flow is fine for the selected
corals, therefore the water pump standard with your Nano system
will be just fine. |

corals. Depending on availability, you pick 1 coral from each
category. When ordering more than 1 Nano Coral Pack, you may
pick different choices so that every coral you recieve will be
different.
Notes: Nano coral size varies with species, typically
1" to 2"- If a coral is out of stock we will provide
a nice substitute. |

in a medium size. The package includes a Brain Coral, Red Ball
Sponge, Purple Fan Gorgonian, Marine Plant, Fancy Colorful Colony
Polyp rock, and 2 Flame Scallops. The ideal environment for these
species is an established reef aquarium with coral friendly fish
and invertebrates. The corals included in this package prefer
moderate to high lighting of at least 3 watts per gallon using
power compact, T-5's, VHO fluorescents, or metal halides. It
is important to maintain proper alkalinity and calcium levels,
proper ph levels and low phosphates to achive long term reef
success. This package will require feedings of zooplankton or
baby brine shrimp a few times per week.

for these species is an established reef aquarium with coral
friendly fish and invertebrates. The corals included in this
package prefer low to moderate lighting. Flourescents are fine,
Power Compact Flourescents (3 - 5 watts per gallon) are even
better. VHO flourescents or metal halides may be used, but keep
the mushroom rocks lower in the tank when using high power lighting.

Why Phytoplankton:
Phytoplankton
is very important to marine life. It is the primary producers
in the ocean. Crucial to the development and survival of most,
if not all marine animals . But what is phytoplankton? It is
just a fancy word for tiny floating plants (such as diatoms and
dinoflagellates), which serve the same role in the food chains
of the oceans as grass and shrubs serve on land; namely small
things eat them. Many coral reef animals feed directly on phytoplankton.
Some essential nutrients provided by phytoplankton cannot be
synthesized by animals, and therefore are extremely important
components of a healthy diet. |
