This eel comes from the Western Pacific to the Indian Ocean. It is fairly hearty and a fairly good eater once settled in the aquarium. This eel is fairly passive and it is unlikely it would attack any inhabitants. It prefers a sand substrate since it tends to bury itself. It is mostly reef compatible and a fairly good shipper.
