Crabs are a must have cleaner for reef aquariums. They keep problems like hair algae, bubble algae, and excess food (detritus) under control.

Red Scarlet Reef Hermit Crabs
Scarlet crabs love to eat hair algae too!!!

Distinguished from it's cousins, by it's unusual yellow face and the scarlet color of the body. Scarlets are an important component in any reef cleaning crew.

Blue Leg Hermit Crabs

Blue Leg's take care of diatoms, hair algae, and red slime too!!
Dwarf Blue Legs are a great value for all forms of algae problems. It is a valuable addition to an aquarium because it will eat algae including green hair algae and cyanobacteria. In addition, it provides valuable aeration by sifting through the sand. It is one of the Hermit Crabs that is reef-safe. Totally Reef Safe, they are about 1/2" and are a great scavenger, cleaning up both your sand bed, rocks and all those hard to get at places.

 Sally Lightfoot Crabs


The Sally Lightfoot Crab, also known as the Nimble Spray, Short, or Urchin Crab. It has a brown body, with orange to yellow rings on the legs. It is very flat, which allows it to hide in small crevices within rock work. It prefers an aquarium with large amounts of rock work where it can hide and scavenge for detritus and old food. It will also eat algae. If insufficient algae is present, its diet may need to be supplemented with dried seaweed. Meaty items should also be offered.

 Green Emerald Crabs
(Mithrax Sculptus)

Natures best defensive weapon against Velonia,
(bubble algae) and Hair algae.
Emeralds love both bubble and hair algae and are completely reef safe. (i.e., they won't harm any corals or polyps). Size: about 1". Constantly active & well mannered in the tank, they coexist well with hermits, as well as the various types of algae-eating snails.

  Horseshoe Crabs

Sand Stirer , Detritus Eater
A terrific addition to a saltwater aquarium to keep the sand bed stirred up. The Horseshoe Crabs dig through sand and gravel in search of any organic debris. It will move the substrate around almost nonstop in its search for food. Eats all the garbage left behind in the sand. This in turn helps keep nitrate levels in your water at a lower level.

  Arrow Crabs

These guys are carrying sponge & Zooanthus polyps
With Long legs and an arrow shaped head, arrow crabs are very useful for the control of bristle worms.They also help consume left over fish food and detritus in the aquarium. Considered reef safe with caution, they have been know to pick at feathur dusters. Recommend 1 per 50 gallons.

 Porcelain Crabs
Safely concealed by rocks or coral, they eat by sweeping feathery arms through the water like fine-meshed nets to capture diatoms and other drifting plants and animals. Peaceful toward other tankmates, they are totally reef-safe.

Electric Blue Hermit Crabs
The Electric Blue Hermit Crab, a very rare find, is exclusively from the Marshall Islands. Electrifying neon blue legs with black banding, and its bright orange antennae show off their beauty. This tiny crab lives in abandoned shells. A valuable addition to an aquarium because it will eat algae including green hair algae and cyanobacteria. In addition, it provides valuable aeration by sifting through the sand.

 Hawaiian Zebra Hermit Crab
The crab will recoil into its shell for protection leaving only the left arm exposed covering the opening of the shell. This is why this crab is often called the Left Handed Hermit. Great scavengers and voracious grazers on algae and left over food. Reef and Seahorse safe.

 Anemone Crabs
The Anemone crab is a small colorful crab, with a porcellain like shell. Like the clown fish, this crab has developed an immunity to anemone stings. This crab is usually found within the stinging cells of a number of anemone species where it uses it's claws to keep clown fish from stealing it's home.
