is Protein Skimming?
|
A protein skimmer stops waste from breaking down into toxic chemicals.
It prevents many serious, common aquarium problems and keeps
filters cleaner. Essential for saltwater tanks, especially with
wet/dry filter systems. A protein skimmer is a fairly simple
design with an important job. Its special designed chamber provides
a column of controlled bubbles. The surface tension from these
bubbles attracts organic waste and carries it through the column;
then it's "skimmed" into a collection cup for removal. |

The Red Sea 2-Stage Prizm Deluxe Skimmer

The Prizm has a unique two-stage reaction chamber, which optimizes
the air/water contact time and creates a turbulent mixture. At
only 2.4 inches in depth the Prizm doesn't need a lot of space
for hanging and with its built-in external pump, there's no ugly
pump in your aquarium to hide or add heat to your aquarium. Suitable
for Marine and Reef aquariums up to 100 gallons. Includes water
pump. The Prizm utilizes a new convergent- divergent flow path
to keep the air and water together longer (length of contact)
while also utilizing the Turbo-Jet impellor for the added volume
of contact. The Prizm is a Slim line Hang-On protein skimmer
for all tanks up to 100 gallons and is the most efficient skimmer

Red Sea Prizm Pro Deluxe

The Prizm Pro Deluxe is a larger version of Red
Sea's regular Prizm Deluxe. It has all the features of the Prizm
Deluxe, but everything has been enlarged to accomodate higher
output systems up to 300 gallons. |
